Tianjin recently released the Implementation Plan for Promoting the Economic Development of Auto Racing Events in Tianjin (Draft for Comments) for public comment. The plan proposes introducing top-tier international and domestic professional racing events. Leveraging the International G2-grade circuit at V1 Auto World in Wuqing, the plan calls for deepening cooperation with organizations such as the FIA and CAMF and bidding to host high-specification fuel-powered racing events, including the China Auto and Motorcycle Sports Congress, the China-Italy International Open-Air Auto Show, the China Supercar Championship, and the CDC China Drift Championship. Focusing on new energy vehicle racing, the plan also calls for introducing green racing events such as the FE Formula E Championship and new energy circuit sprint races, building a full-category event system, and establishing northern China as a hub for high-end motorsport events. In addition, support will be given to upgrading and renovating the infrastructure of the V1 Auto World circuit, and exploration will be made into hosting top-tier events such as F1.
