The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has recently released a notice, detailing the roster of contenders for the 2026 Leading-Level Smart Factory Project Cultivation Program. Among the chosen 34 factories is Xiaomi Auto Co., Ltd.'s AI-Driven Agile Manufacturing Super Smart Factory, dedicated to producing high-end new energy vehicles. China's approach to smart factory development is structured across four tiers: foundational, advanced, exemplary, and leading. The leading tier is specifically designed to pioneer future manufacturing paradigms, drive forward intelligent transformation, and establish global benchmarks. As of the end of September, China has successfully established over 13,000 advanced-level smart factories and more than 500 exemplary-level ones, while also nurturing 15 leading-level smart factories.
