As reported by the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), Toyota Motor Corporation is set to make a substantial investment of 1.49 billion Thai baht (equivalent to roughly $44 million) to initiate, for the very first time, the production of fuel cell pickup trucks in Thailand. The freshly established production site, situated at the Chachoengsao plant, is projected to boast an annual production capacity of 3,000 units. These vehicles are earmarked for export to key markets including Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Anticipations are high that commercial production will kick off in December 2027. Presently, the project has successfully secured tax incentives following approval from the Thailand Board of Investment.
