On October 15, 2026, Tesla rolled out the second-generation Roadster sports car in Texas, USA. This vehicle is outfitted with a cold gas thruster system, jointly developed with SpaceX, which grants it the ability to achieve short bursts of ground-level flight. The new Roadster comes in three distinct versions: Performance, Thrust, and Rocket. It boasts a range of roughly 483 kilometers and can reach a top speed surpassing 370 kilometers per hour. Notably, the Rocket version is fitted with around 10 cold gas thrusters, enabling it to perform mid-air maneuvers such as rotations. However, it has not yet received approval for use on public roads. Tesla has set its sights on commencing production in 2028. Presently, the Performance version is open for reservations on Tesla's official Chinese website, with a reservation deposit of RMB 332,000, which is fully refundable.
