Waymo, a prominent player in the autonomous driving mobility sector, has officially set foot in Canada, selecting Toronto as its inaugural destination. The company has outlined plans to roll out autonomous ride-hailing services by 2028. In the initial phase, Waymo's vehicles will be navigated by human drivers in Toronto, primarily for the purposes of road mapping and conducting tests. This will pave the way for a subsequent transition to the fully autonomous driving stage.
