XPENG Motors has set its sights on achieving an impressive annual sales target of 500,000 vehicles in Europe by the close of 2030. Should this ambitious goal be realized, XPENG's European sales figures will eclipse those of both Ford and Stellantis's Opel brand. During the Paris Motor Show, XPENG's Chairman, He Xiaopeng, disclosed that the linchpin to accomplishing this objective is identifying strategies to ramp up vehicle production within Europe. XPENG's overarching global annual sales ambition stands at 1 million vehicles, with the European market slated to contribute half of that total.
Data reveals that Ford delivered in excess of 426,000 vehicles across Europe last year, while Opel registered 400,000 vehicles during the same timeframe. Since making its European debut in Norway back in 2020, XPENG has amassed cumulative deliveries exceeding 60,000 vehicles, with the bulk of these sales occurring over the past two years. At present, XPENG is engaged in discussions with Austrian contract manufacturer Magna International regarding plans to bolster production and is also actively investigating the feasibility of setting up factories in other European locales. He Xiaopeng underscored that the current production capacity represents the most significant hurdle XPENG must overcome in Europe.
