The controversy surrounding the fracture of the brake pedal bracket in the Zunjie V800 model shows no signs of abating. The test footage released by DCD (a well-known automotive evaluation platform) revealed a concerning pattern: during emergency braking tests from 100km/h to a complete stop, the brake pedal brackets of three brand-new Zunjie V800 vehicles all fractured between the second and fourth full braking attempts. Following the fractures, the vehicles' foot brakes became entirely inoperative, relying solely on the P-gear emergency braking system, which substantially lengthened the braking distance.

Dongmen Jiannan, the leader of DCD's automotive safety testing team, conducted a detailed disassembly of the brake pedal assembly from one of the affected vehicles. His findings indicated that the fractures and their locations were consistent across all three vehicles. He speculated that the fractures might be attributed to a brittle overload failure of the bracket material, which lacked sufficient robustness to withstand instantaneous peak braking loads.

In response, Zunjie Automobile asserted that its braking system had been developed and rigorously validated to standards that surpass both national and industry benchmarks. The company subtly implied that DCD's tests might have been conducted under non-standard, extreme conditions that do not reflect typical usage scenarios.

Adding another layer to the controversy, Dongmen Jiannan, the DCD tester, also became the target of SMS bombing, where he received a large number of unsolicited and harassing text messages.
