Cui Dongshu of the China Passenger Car Association highlighted that since the global onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, the resilience and strengths of China's automotive industry chain have been fully showcased, propelling the country's automotive export market to achieve robust growth over the past two years. Chinese independent automakers have excelled particularly in sales performance across certain overseas regions. Data reveals that in 2025, sales of Chinese independent automakers in selected overseas regions under continuous monitoring reached 3.54 million units, marking a 28% year-on-year increase. By August 2026, sales of Chinese independent brands in overseas markets had soared to 442,000 units, up 52% year-on-year, with cumulative sales from January to August totaling 3.36 million units, a 59% year-on-year surge. This underscores the remarkable retail performance of Chinese independent brands in international markets.
