On October 4th, reports emerged indicating that during the first trio of days in the National Day holiday period, there was a notable upsurge in the demand for charging new energy vehicles. Meanwhile, the charging infrastructure along expressways functioned seamlessly. Data from the national monitoring service platform for charging infrastructure revealed that, spanning from October 1st to 3rd, a grand total of 2,968,600 charging instances for new energy vehicles were carried out at 62,700 expressway charging stations (or "guns") nationwide. This equates to an average of 989,500 charging sessions daily, marking a 48.41% year-on-year surge. The cumulative charging volume soared to 71,619,300 kilowatt-hours, averaging 23,873,100 kilowatt-hours per day, which represents a 49.39% increase compared to the same period last year. This trend underscores the escalating adoption of eco-friendly travel options during holidays, with the propensity for long-distance journeys in new energy vehicles gaining increasing prominence.
