Ni Jun, Chief Manufacturing Officer at CATL, announced during the Ningde Quality Global Open Month event that the company is currently leveraging its eighth-generation ultra-advanced production lines. These cutting-edge lines are equipped with in-house developed machinery, boast nearly 7,000 quality control checkpoints, and harness AI algorithms to enable adaptive, self-optimizing intelligent closed-loop control. This sophisticated system compensates for environmental and material variations, ensuring consistent output. Ni Jun disclosed that CATL’s next-generation production lines are poised for sequential deployment starting next year. He also emphasized that battery quality hinges largely on design excellence, with the manufacturing process tasked to uphold the design specifications without introducing new variables. Achieving ultimate consistency, he noted, demands seamless collaboration between design and production teams. Furthermore, Ni Jun highlighted that sodium-ion batteries and condensed matter batteries can be seamlessly integrated into existing lithium battery production lines, underscoring CATL’s commitment to flexibility and innovation.
