Li Xiang, the CEO of Li Auto, penned an article that took a stroll down memory lane, recounting the company's odyssey in the automotive manufacturing realm while also spilling the beans on the much-anticipated Li Auto i9. He mentioned that in its nascent stages, the company encountered skepticism stemming from its internet-based origins. Nevertheless, it remained steadfast in its choice of a challenging yet righteous path: firstly, establishing its own vehicle manufacturing hub to gain a firm grip on the production process; secondly, independently developing and crafting core powertrains; thirdly, independently developing and producing battery packs, embracing a self-research and contract manufacturing approach for battery cells, and setting up over a hundred laboratories to guarantee reliability.
Li Xiang underscored that Li Auto is committed to independently developing and manufacturing core components while fostering open collaboration with global partners across various categories. The Li Auto i9 stands as the pinnacle of the company's yearly R&D investment, which has surpassed 10 billion RMB. It serves as the flagship model of its second-generation pure electric platform, with its grand launch event slated for 19:30 tonight.
