Li Jun, previously associated with SAIC Volkswagen, is poised to replace Yang Siyao as the marketing department head for the collaborative business unit between SAIC and Huawei, specifically for the Shangjie brand. This management shift comes in the wake of Shangjie's sales performance not meeting anticipated targets. Earlier, Li Jun was relieved of his marketing responsibilities concerning SAIC Volkswagen's brands. During the first half of this year, Shangjie achieved retail sales of around 31,500 units, securing the second position among Hongmeng Zhixing brands, though it still significantly trails behind Aito. Shangjie is strategically positioned as an entry-level, high-volume brand, boasting the lowest vehicle pricing within the entire Hongmeng Zhixing range. Shangjie has clarified that SAIC and Huawei are deeply engaged in a strategic, long-term partnership. SAIC has already dedicated a team of 5,000 personnel and invested RMB 6 billion, with an additional RMB 1 billion allocated this year for the development of the Jinqiao factory, constructed in line with Industry 4.0 standards. In July of this year, Shangjie's legal department issued a statement to protect its interests amidst rumors of a potential split from Hongmeng Zhixing.
