On September 15, data released by the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance revealed that the installed capacity of domestic power batteries soared to 79.0 GWh in August. This marked a 5.9% month-on-month increase and a significant 26.3% surge year-on-year. Breaking down the figures, the installed capacity of ternary batteries stood at 11.0 GWh, constituting 14.0% of the total installed capacity. Despite a slight 1.0% month-on-month decrease, it still registered a 0.9% year-on-year growth. In contrast, lithium iron phosphate batteries witnessed a robust performance, with their installed capacity reaching 67.6 GWh, accounting for a dominant 85.6% of the total. This represented a notable 7.0% month-on-month increase and an impressive 31.0% year-on-year jump.

Looking at the cumulative figures from January to August this year, the total installed capacity of domestic power batteries amounted to 489.1 GWh, showcasing a 17.0% year-on-year rise. Specifically, the cumulative installed capacity of ternary batteries was 85.6 GWh, making up 17.5% of the total, and experiencing a 10.6% year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, lithium iron phosphate batteries continued to lead the pack, with their cumulative installed capacity reaching 402.7 GWh, representing 82.3% of the total, and achieving an 18.3% year-on-year growth.
