On September 15th, Zhang Yongwei, the Chair of the CheBaiHui Research Institute, stated at the press conference of the High-Level Forum on the Development of Intelligent Electric Vehicles (2027) that stabilizing the Chinese auto market is crucial not only for the growth of the auto industry itself but also for bolstering the broader macroeconomy. In 2026, the Chinese auto market is set to undergo an adjustment phase, characterized by overall stability, notable structural disparities, robust export growth, and sluggish domestic demand. Projections indicate a decline in domestic market sales by 18%, contrasted with a 55% surge in exports. During the '15th Five-Year Plan' period, sustaining annual domestic market sales of 25 million vehicles will be vital for stabilizing domestic economic circulation, with the total auto sales volume expected to hover between 35 million and 40 million vehicles. By 2027, the domestic auto market is expected to embark on a recovery trajectory.
