At the 2026 IAA Commercial Vehicle Exhibition, BYD unveiled its first heavy-duty electric truck, the ETT44, for the European market in Hannover, Germany, and announced plans for future local production. The ETT44 is a 4x2 pure electric tractor truck tailored for European logistics scenarios, featuring lightweight design, a high-voltage platform, large-capacity blade batteries, powerful performance, long range, and fast-charging capabilities. The vehicle's performance has been optimized for European operational needs, offering long-cycle battery warranties and significant cost advantages. Additionally, BYD has introduced a full-lifecycle service solution. Currently, BYD has made substantial progress in its European localization efforts, with its passenger vehicle factory in Hungary set to commence formal mass production. The localization of commercial vehicle production will draw on the experience gained from passenger vehicles to deepen market penetration and address trade barriers.
