On September 15th, Alphabet's Waymo officially launched its paid robotaxi service in Las Vegas, marking its 15th city in the United States to offer ride-hailing services. The service will commence on Monday and will be rolled out in phases, initially deploying dozens of vehicles, with plans to expand to hundreds in the future. Initially, the robotaxis in Las Vegas will not operate on highways, with airport transfers and highway services to be added later. The operational fleet is managed by Moove, which also oversees vehicle operations for Waymo in Phoenix and Miami. Currently, Waymo boasts over 4,000 robotaxis in the United States, providing more than 500,000 paid rides weekly. The company previously stated its ambition to achieve 1 million paid rides per week across 20 global cities this year and is preparing to conduct tests in markets such as London and Tokyo.
