Based on a report from The Wall Street Journal, recent sales figures reveal that Tesla is once again broadening its footprint in the U.S. electric vehicle (EV) market, while traditional automakers are scaling back their presence. Data sourced from Motor Intelligence illustrates that, during the initial eight months of 2026, Tesla secured a 52% share of the U.S. EV market, marking an increase from the 43% it held during the corresponding period the previous year. Nevertheless, Tesla has not escaped the broader market slump, with its U.S. sales totaling 325,351 units year-to-date, reflecting a 16% decrease compared to the same period last year.
