The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced that Ford Motor Company is recalling 223,472 vehicles across the United States. The recall stems from concerns over fuel tank leakage and improper attachment, which could result in the fuel tanks detaching while the vehicles are in motion. This recall specifically targets certain models of the Ford F-150 pickup trucks from the 2023 to 2027 model years.

Should a fuel tank become detached, it not only poses a risk of obstructing traffic flow but also significantly elevates the likelihood of collisions. Additionally, any fuel leakage presents a dual hazard: it can cause the engine to stall unexpectedly and, in worst-case scenarios, potentially ignite a fire. To address these safety concerns, Ford dealers will conduct thorough inspections of the affected vehicles free of charge and replace the fuel tank straps as needed to ensure proper attachment and prevent any future incidents.
