Ford’s latest all-electric pickup, the Fathom, has been unveiled in camouflaged test form, with its official launch and deliveries slated for 2027. Priced at $28,350 for the base model, the Fathom is the first vehicle built on Ford’s new universal electric platform. This platform is designed to pave the way for more affordable electric models in the future.

In terms of performance, the Fathom will be available in two configurations: a single-motor rear-wheel-drive version and a dual-motor four-wheel-drive version. These will be paired with batteries of varying capacities, offering driving ranges of either 322-354 kilometers or an estimated 483 kilometers. The battery adopts a structured design, with the cells manufactured at Ford’s newly constructed battery factory in Michigan.

The Fathom is designed to comfortably seat five passengers and offers more interior space than the Toyota RAV4. Additionally, all models will come standard with advanced features such as Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving system and bidirectional power supply functionality. The bidirectional power supply can support electric tools or serve as a residential power source, further expanding the vehicle’s range of applications.
