On September 4, it was reported that in the semi-anechoic laboratory of Anhui Quanchai Engine Co., Ltd., an engine was being prepared for testing. Yu Lei, Deputy General Manager of Quanchai Engine and Dean of the Technology Research Institute, stated that the company is currently adjusting its production line and expects to achieve batch production in October. The product mentioned by Yu Lei is China's first mass-produced 2.5T diesel hybrid-specific engine, jointly developed by Quanchai Engine and Chery. This engine successfully ignited in September 2025. It will first be installed in Chery's Rely pickup trucks, with the initial market launch in Australia and New Zealand, followed by expansion to the global market.
