Workers at Hyundai Motor Union Vote to Approve This Year's Wage Agreement

The union of South Korea's largest automaker, Hyundai Motor Company, stated on Tuesday that workers have voted to approve this year's wage agreement, which includes a monthly base salary increase of 100,000 Korean won (approximately $73). The union reported that 61.55% of the 31,166 members approved the agreement in Monday's vote. According to the agreement, employees will also receive a performance bonus equivalent to 400% of their monthly salary and 12.7 million won in cash. Both parties also agreed to extend the retirement age from 60 to 65 if relevant regulations are revised.
