XPENG's robotics division has successfully concluded its initial funding round, amassing over US$900 million and attaining a post-investment valuation surpassing US$6.3 billion (equivalent to approximately RMB 43 billion). This achievement marks a new benchmark for a single round of private equity funding within China's embodied AI sector. The funding round was spearheaded by IDG Capital, with contributions from GaoRong Capital, and garnered backing from two key strategic investors: Tencent and Alibaba. XPENG Group retains its majority control. Post-funding, XPENG Robotics is poised to expedite its mass production endeavors, propel the research and development evolution of physical AI models, and foster the worldwide commercial deployment of sophisticated general-purpose humanoid robots.
