According to data released by the National Energy Administration, as of the end of July 2026, the total number of electric vehicle charging guns nationwide reached 23.683 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 41.9%. Among them, the number of private charging guns was 18.584 million, up 48.8% year-on-year, accounting for nearly 80% of the total. The installed electrical capacity for these private guns was 160 million kilovolt-amperes, making them the main force in recharging electric vehicles. The number of public charging guns stood at 5.099 million, up 21.3% year-on-year, with an average power of approximately 49.97 kilowatts per gun. Currently, the growth rate of charging facilities matches the Popularization (Note: the correct term should be 'popularization') rate of new energy vehicles, but issues such as uneven distribution of public fast-charging facilities and difficulties in installing charging guns in older residential areas remain. In the future, it will be necessary to increase the deployment of public high-power fast-charging facilities to balance charging demand.
