Tesla's Robotaxi business has secured a full operating license from the Nevada Department of Transportation, replacing its previous temporary permit. Over the next 12 months, Tesla can deploy up to 5,000 autonomous vehicles in Clark County, with operations covering the entire county and the possibility of applying for further expansion. Tesla has no immediate plans to deploy all vehicles at once and expects to launch commercial passenger services within 30 days, pending completion of standard procedures such as vehicle inspections. This aligns with Tesla's plan to advance its Robotaxi business this month, as it prepares to open Cybercab test rides in Austin. Tesla submitted an application to deploy 5,000 vehicles in June this year, and the temporary permit obtained in July only allowed for the operation of 10 vehicles. The scale of approval this time has essentially reached the initial application and far exceeds the 100-vehicle cap for Amazon-backed Zoox. However, the actual number of deployments will depend on the progress of FSD v15.
