Autonomous vehicle operator Waymo has forwarded its investigative response reports to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) concerning a January incident this year, in which one of its self-driving taxis collided with and caused minor injuries to a child while traveling at a low speed. Although the reports were initially due for submission by May 8, Waymo successfully requested and received an extension. To date, Waymo has fulfilled all submission requirements; however, certain portions of the reports have been redacted to protect proprietary business information.
