China’s Homegrown C919 Large Passenger Aircraft Successfully Launches Its First International Commercial Route

At 16:58 on August 12, Air China’s Flight CA723, operated by China’s domestically developed C919 large passenger aircraft, successfully touched down at the New Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Mongolia. This milestone marks the inaugural operation of the C919 on a regular international scheduled passenger route, heralding a new chapter in its global expansion. The route connects Beijing Capital International Airport with Ulaanbaatar, featuring one round trip per day. The outbound flight departs Beijing at 15:00 and arrives in Ulaanbaatar at 17:15, while the return flight takes off from Ulaanbaatar at 18:30 and lands back in Beijing at 20:35. The C919 completed its maiden commercial flight in May 2023 and has since been serving multiple domestic routes across China.
