On August 11, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released recall details, revealing that Tesla is recalling 20,349 vehicles. This recall encompasses Model 3 vehicles from the model years 2017 through 2023 and Model Y vehicles from the model years 2020 through 2023, with the issue stemming from the excessive brightness of the low-beam headlights on certain vehicles. The NHTSA pointed out that overly bright low-beam headlights might impair the visibility of oncoming drivers, thereby heightening the likelihood of collisions. This recall occurs amid Tesla's ongoing encounter with regulatory oversight concerning vehicle safety concerns; back in July of this year, the NHTSA initiated a preliminary investigation into roughly 1.2 million Tesla vehicles, prompted by reports that suspension malfunctions could potentially result in a loss of steering control.
