On August 5th, in Shanghai, SAIC Motor and General Motors formally entered into a joint venture renewal agreement. This strategic move extends the duration of their SAIC-GM joint venture by an impressive two decades, pushing the end date to 2047. The initial joint venture contract for SAIC-GM was penned in 1995, with the company itself coming into existence in June 1997. Originally set for a 30-year term, the contract was slated to reach its conclusion in June 2027.
