On August 4, Nissan announced that Alfonso Albaisa, Senior Vice President of Global Design, will step down from his position on October 1 and transition to an advisory role until December 31 before officially retiring. His position will be taken over by Matthew Weaver, the current Senior Design Director. Weaver, who joined Nissan in 2001, has been involved in the development of key models such as the Qashqai, Juke, and several other important vehicles for the European and Japanese markets.
