On Monday, the released data revealed that South Korea's online shopping sales experienced a robust year-on-year growth of approximately 10% in June. This surge was propelled by the soaring demand for mobile devices and automobiles. As reported by Statistics Korea, online shopping transactions soared to KRW 24.6 trillion (equivalent to roughly USD 17 billion) in June, marking a year-on-year increase of KRW 2.3 trillion. Notably, sales of mobile devices more than doubled, reaching KRW 892.4 billion, thanks to the promotional campaigns launched by Samsung Electronics. Meanwhile, spending on automobiles and related products skyrocketed by 56.8%, hitting KRW 1.19 trillion, largely fueled by Tesla's sales performance.
