On July 31, reports emerged indicating that from July 30 to 31, Division I of the Equipment Industry Department under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) undertook a thorough supervision and inspection initiative. This effort targeted the product safety assurance capabilities and production compliance of road motor vehicle manufacturers, with a focus on three prominent companies: Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., NIO Automobile Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd., and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. The inspection's core elements encompassed an evaluation of production access conditions, including the enterprises' proficiency in ensuring the safety of intelligent connected vehicles, their design development and production prowess, and their ability to guarantee production conformity.

During the inspection, sample vehicles and power batteries were randomly selected for on-site scrutiny. Looking ahead, the MIIT is set to collaborate closely with pertinent departments to implement comprehensive measures aimed at bolstering production compliance and enhancing the quality of road motor vehicle products. This will involve a strengthened review process for access and rigorous testing and verification management for innovative automotive product designs. Enterprises will be urged to proactively identify and mitigate potential product safety risks, refine product testing and verification procedures, conduct thorough safety assessments, and regulate marketing and promotional activities to effectively protect consumer rights.
