As per a research report from Huatai Securities, data on the pre-production schedules for the lithium battery industry chain in August, released by InfoLink Consulting, indicates that among the sampled companies, battery production volume hit 198.8 GWh, marking an 8.9% increase from the previous month. Production of cathode materials reached 244,000 metric tons, up by 3.5% month-on-month; anode materials hit 214,000 metric tons, a 4.9% increase from the prior month; separators output reached 2.23 billion square meters, showing a 0.9% rise month-on-month; and electrolyte production stood at 141,000 metric tons, up 5.6% compared to the previous month. The impact of the peak season is still evident. Both domestic and international demand for energy storage remains robust, with the global shift towards automotive electrification gaining momentum. Coupled with factors such as the year-end export tax rebate and the peak season for energy storage grid connection, it is anticipated that production schedules will experience further growth in the latter half of the year. The research report expresses confidence in this round of lithium battery price hikes, while also maintaining a positive outlook on the large-scale development of the sodium battery sector and the commercialization of emerging solid-state battery technologies.
