On July 28, two prominent automotive enterprises under the SAIC Motor umbrella announced concurrent leadership changes. Lu Xiao, previously at the helm of SAIC General Motors, has been appointed as the new General Manager of SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Company, succeeding Wang Jun. Concurrently, Xu Ping, the former General Manager of Huayu Automotive Systems, has taken over as the General Manager of SAIC General Motors.
Lu Xiao's illustrious career began at Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center in 1997, where he rose to become the first Chinese chief engineer for General Motors' global platform. In this capacity, he spearheaded the research and development of renowned models such as the Buick Regal, LaCrosse, and Chevrolet Malibu.
Xu Ping, on the other hand, brings a wealth of experience across various domains, including automotive research and development, strategic planning, overseas operations, and corporate management. His impressive track record includes serving as the Executive Deputy Director of SAIC Motor's Technical Center, among other notable positions.
