On July 29, reports surfaced regarding recent rumors indicating that the external blue indicator light, known as the 'Little Blue Light,' which is installed on passenger vehicles to signal the operational status of assisted driving systems, is set to be banned. This ban would be due to its non-compliance with the stipulations outlined in GB4785, the national standard for the 'Installation Provisions for External Lighting and Light Signaling Devices of Motor Vehicles and Trailers.' On the same day, Geely Auto acknowledged the news, stating that it would strictly adhere to national regulations and was currently awaiting further instructions. Furthermore, an insider from an automotive manufacturer confirmed that, effective from July 27, 2026, the state would prohibit the use of the 'Little Blue Light' on all newly certified vehicle models.
