On July 23 (Beijing Time), Tesla unveiled its financial results for the second quarter of 2026, revealing a 26% year-on-year surge in revenue, reaching $28.236 billion, alongside a 5% year-on-year dip in net profit, settling at $1.114 billion. The automotive segment witnessed a 23% year-on-year revenue hike, while the energy generation and storage sectors experienced a 13% year-on-year uptick. Services and other businesses, on the other hand, saw a remarkable 50% year-on-year revenue spike. Operating profit plummeted by 57% year-on-year, and the gross profit margin narrowed from 17.2% in the same period last year to 16.8%. Tesla attributed the decline in operating profit mainly to factors such as the reduction in the average selling price of vehicles and a decrease in revenue from regulatory credits.

In terms of delivery volume, Tesla manufactured over 451,000 pure electric vehicles globally in the second quarter, marking a year-on-year increase of around 10%. Deliveries soared to 480,100 units, representing a year-on-year surge of approximately 25%. Tesla is currently navigating through its largest investment cycle in history and will persist in ramping up investments in AI, robotics, and infrastructure.

During the second quarter, the Cybercab officially kicked off production at the Giga Texas factory, and the Robotaxi autonomous driving service has been rolled out to multiple cities across the United States. Concurrently, the company has ceased production of the Model S and Model X at the Fremont factory and has embarked on constructing the first-generation mass production line for the Optimus humanoid robot, with production slated to commence later this year.

Furthermore, Tesla announced that in the first half of this year, its Cortex AI training computing power in Texas has more than doubled. It is also forging ahead with the construction of the Austin semiconductor factory to bolster its capabilities in self-developed AI chips and ensure a steady supply of key logic and memory chips.
