CAAM: Chinese Brand Passenger Vehicles Witness 6.2% Year-on-Year Sales Growth in June, with 1.812 Million Units Sold

On July 23, data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers revealed that in June 2026, sales of Chinese-brand passenger vehicles soared to 1.812 million units. This represented a 7.3% surge from the previous month and a 6.2% increase compared to the same period last year. These vehicles accounted for a substantial 75.5% of the total passenger vehicle sales, with their market share expanding by 8.2 percentage points year-on-year. From January to June 2026, the cumulative sales of Chinese-brand passenger vehicles reached 9.138 million units. Although this marked a slight 1.4% dip year-on-year, their market share still stood at a robust 71.8%, reflecting a 3.3 percentage point increase compared to the previous year.
