On July 16, the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance unveiled data concerning power batteries for June 2026. According to the data, China's combined sales volume of power and energy storage batteries soared to 196.0 GWh in June, marking a month-on-month surge of 7.6% and a year-on-year leap of 49.1%. Specifically, power battery sales hit 133.4 GWh, constituting 68.1% of the total sales, with a month-on-month uptick of 5.0% and a year-on-year climb of 41.8%. Meanwhile, energy storage battery sales reached 62.6 GWh, making up 31.9% of the total sales, experiencing a month-on-month boost of 13.4% and a remarkable year-on-year jump of 67.5%. From January to June this year, the cumulative sales volume of power and energy storage batteries stood at 979.4 GWh, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 48.6%. Within this figure, power battery sales accumulated to 661.3 GWh, representing 67.5% of the total sales and a year-on-year increase of 36.2%. Energy storage battery sales, on the other hand, totaled 318.1 GWh, accounting for 32.5% of the total sales and achieving a significant year-on-year rise of 83.4%.
