The Dongfeng Motor R&D Institute has triumphantly accomplished a significant industry milestone by being the first to launch 2400MPa ultra-high-strength steel structural parts. Furthermore, it has produced trial versions of a novel coated ultra-high-strength material laser-welded one-piece door ring. This innovative material boasts a unique combination of high strength, superior toughness, and outstanding welding capabilities, and has been incorporated into the E Yi Realm X9. The zinc-based coating of this material provides robust resistance against corrosion. The team has successfully tackled the manufacturing hurdles associated with zinc-based hot-forming steel, culminating in the trial production of a zinc-based coated, laser-welded one-piece hot-formed door ring. This component integrates ultra-high strength, high corrosion resistance, and resistance to hydrogen embrittlement. This technology is adaptable to dual process routes and will initially be implemented in the critical safety structural components of the Mengshi model, propelling the advancement of Dongfeng's independent brand.
