On June 26, the 2026 Busan Mobility Show opened at the Busan International Convention and Exhibition Center, with participants including Hyundai, Kia, and BYD Korea. Hyundai globally premiered the eighth-generation Elantra and showcased multiple electric vehicle models. Kia displayed its electric vehicle lineup and customized models. BYD Korea showcased its independently developed DM-i super hybrid technology in Korea for the first time and outlined its future development vision. Previously, BYD held a briefing in Seoul on June 17, announcing the launch of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles in Korea. A BYD representative stated that its PHEVs primarily rely on electricity, supplemented by gasoline, differing from existing European brand models. They anticipate smooth sales in Korea, with volumes expected to reach around three times that of electric vehicles.
