On June 26, He Xiaopeng revealed that XPENG's second-generation Vehicle with Learning Abilities (VLA) is poised for a global launch. He highlighted that the DCAS UNR 171 series 02 regulations, endorsed by the World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29), will come into effect in six months and will be compulsorily implemented across the European Union (EU). This signifies that autonomous driving will be legally permitted to enter global markets, including the EU, starting from the end of this year. He Xiaopeng also disclosed that by 2027, overseas users will have the opportunity to experience XPENG's VLA and Vehicle with Learning Model (VLM) functionalities, which will encompass the ability to interact with and control the vehicle through a blend of Chinese and local languages. Previously, XPENG has actively participated in the meetings of the Working Party on Automated Driving Systems at the United Nations World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations, playing a pivotal role in the establishment of the world's inaugural regulations for autonomous driving technology.
