Amazon's autonomous driving subsidiary Zoox unveiled its new generation of self-driving taxis (Robotaxi) on June 24, enhancing passenger experience and readiness for mass production. The new model retains its steering wheel-free, bidirectional driving design, with improved seat comfort, bright interior color schemes, and upgraded features such as touchscreens and wireless charging. The exterior bidirectional reflective devices and sliding door interaction interfaces have also been upgraded. The new Robotaxi will be manufactured at Zoox's factory in Hayward, California, which has the capacity to produce up to 100 vehicles per week.
