The National Energy Administration has released data concerning the nation's electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities for May 2026. Based on statistics from the national charging infrastructure monitoring service platform, as of the end of May 2026, the total number of EV charging infrastructure units (guns) in China had surged to 22.497 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 44.9%. Specifically, the number of public charging facilities (guns) stood at 4.951 million, up 25.9% from the previous year, with a combined rated power of 242 million kilowatts and an average power output of approximately 48.89 kilowatts per gun. In the meantime, private charging facilities (guns) numbered 17.546 million, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 51.4%, with a reported installed electrical capacity of 151 million kilovolt-amperes.
