A tragic incident involving a Tesla Model 3 recently unfolded in Katy, Texas. On a Friday evening, the Tesla Model 3 went off the designated roadway and crashed into a residential house, claiming the life of 76-year-old homeowner Martha Avila, who suffered fatal injuries. The driver, identified as Michael Butler, asserted that the vehicle was operating in autonomous driving mode when the accident took place. Nevertheless, Tesla responded by asserting that the driver had been pressing the accelerator pedal all the way down as the car traversed the residential zone, thereby manually overriding the Autopilot system. At present, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has initiated a special investigation, and the precise cause of the accident is still under scrutiny.
