Lucid Motors will lay off 18% of its workforce, affecting approximately 1,500 employees, after already implementing a 12% staff reduction four months ago. Meanwhile, its factory in Casa Grande, Arizona, has canceled the second shift for electric vehicle production. This layoff is one of the measures taken by newly appointed CEO Silvio Napoli to streamline the company's structure, enhance execution, and boost market competitiveness. This move comes amid a cooling U.S. electric vehicle market and adjustments to electric vehicle plans by several mainstream automakers.
