The BYD Tang EV has made its official debut, with prices beginning at 239,900 yuan. Consumers can choose from four distinct models: the 800KM Rear-Wheel-Drive LiDAR Prestige Edition, the 950KM Rear-Wheel-Drive LiDAR Flagship Edition, the 850KM Four-Wheel-Drive LiDAR Flagship Edition, and the Tang Dynasty Grand Edition. Pre-sale orders for the vehicle have already surpassed 150,000 units, effectively filling a market void in the Dynasty Series for vehicles priced above 250,000 yuan. As the first D-class flagship SUV in the Dynasty Series, the Tang EV boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 5263x1999x1790mm, with a wheelbase of 3130mm. Its design is inspired by the “Dawn of the East” aesthetic, offering a choice of five solid colors and three two-tone paint finishes.
Inside, the vehicle features a 2+2+3 seven-seat configuration. It is equipped with a 3nm automotive-grade chip and a multi-screen interactive system, delivering a luxurious experience with dual zero-gravity seats, a premium French Devialet 7.1.4-channel sound system, and a vast 2.53-square-meter hollow laminated sunroof. Storage is abundant, with 47 compartments throughout the cabin, an electric front trunk with a 252-liter capacity, and a rear trunk expandable to 1,359 liters when the third-row seats are folded down. The vehicle’s space utilization rate reaches an impressive 89.3%, and the second row features a 201mm-wide central aisle for added comfort.
Under the hood, the Tang EV is powered by the second-generation Blade Battery and a full-domain 1000-volt high-voltage architecture. It offers three CLTC pure electric range options: 800km, 850km, and 950km, along with two drive configurations—single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor four-wheel-drive. The total motor power outputs are 300kW, 370kW, and 585kW, respectively. The four-wheel-drive version can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Battery capacities are available in 105.79kWh and 130.15kWh variants, supporting flash charging technology that can replenish the battery from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes. Even in extremely cold environments, the charging time is only 3 minutes longer than at normal temperatures.
For intelligent driving, all models come standard with a roof-mounted LiDAR and the “Divine Eye 5.0” advanced intelligent driving assistance system, which supports functions such as map-free urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot). BYD also provides a one-year safety guarantee for urban navigation. The cabin is further enhanced with the AI super intelligent agent “Didi Xia” and the DiLink AI intelligent cockpit.
In terms of chassis control, all models are equipped with the Yunchan-A intelligent air suspension body control system and a rear-wheel steering system (with a maximum steering angle of ±7 degrees), enabling the intelligent crab mode. Additionally, all seats feature a multi-dimensional anti-motion sickness mode, and the vehicle is equipped with the TBC high-speed tire blowout stabilization system, which supports straight-line blowout stabilization at speeds up to 200 km/h.
Safety is a top priority, with the vehicle’s body constructed using 84% high-strength steel and aluminum alloy. Core crash zones are reinforced with steel exceeding 2000 MPa. All models come standard with 11 airbags and have passed the China Automotive Technology & Research Center’s “Zero Formaldehyde” healthy cabin certification, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all occupants.
