BYD has reached a significant milestone by delivering its 100,000th new energy vehicle in the UK market, swiftly becoming the brand to attain a 5% market share faster than any other locally. In the initial four months of this year, its sales have soared past 26,000 units, capturing a market share exceeding 7% and securing the top spot on the electric vehicle sales chart. In the meantime, BYD has embarked on enhancing the local charging infrastructure, inaugurating its first flash-charging station in Uxbridge. The company aims to set up 300 flash-charging stations across the UK by the end of the year and deploy roughly 3,000 stations throughout Europe by 2027. These stations will be strategically placed in high-traffic areas and along major highways, with an average spacing of one station every 50 kilometers. BYD's strategic pivot in the UK from solely selling cars to constructing a comprehensive sales, service, and charging ecosystem mirrors the broader transformation of Chinese automotive brands as they expand globally.
