On June 17, Stellantis, Wayve, and Uber jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation to explore the global development and deployment of L4 fully autonomous robotaxis. Stellantis will be responsible for designing, engineering, and mass-producing vehicles based on an L4-ready platform, which includes a built-in sensor suite meeting the safety redundancy requirements for high-intensity autonomous driving operations. Wayve will provide end-to-end AI driving software that can adapt to different regions and driving scenarios without the need for high-definition maps. Uber will leverage its global mobility platform to deploy autonomous vehicles, connecting passengers with self-driving services. The three parties plan to collaborate on vehicle integration, testing and validation, and commercial deployment, targeting markets including Europe, North America, and broader regions.
