On June 11 (local time), Waymo, Alphabet's autonomous driving company, announced the launch of the Waymo Premier membership plan, priced at $30 per month and available exclusively to invited users. Membership benefits include priority pickups, a 10% cashback (in the form of credits) on each ride, priority access to new city services, and up to five free ride cancellations per month. Waymo stated that it would initially send invitations through its app and email to tens of thousands of eligible passengers in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix in the United States, with plans to expand the membership service to other covered cities in the future.
