This week, the U.S. subsidiary of Honda Motor Co. declared its intention to recall roughly 1.05 million vehicles within the U.S. market, citing safety concerns related to tire repair kits. According to documents from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the tire sealant canisters in the affected vehicles may experience pressure buildup, leading to the potential ejection of bottle caps and thereby posing an injury risk to bystanders. The models subject to this recall encompass the 2023 to 2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid, Accord Hybrid, as well as the 2025 to 2026 CR-V fuel cell electric vehicle. Specifically, the recall includes approximately 744,000 units of the CR-V Hybrid, around 305,000 units of the Accord Hybrid, and 340 units of the fuel cell variant.
