Li Auto is scheduled to hold a software and artificial intelligence launch event at 4:30 PM on June 15. The event will focus on embodied intelligence and shed light on the company's strategic direction in software and AI domains. In response to external criticism, Li Xiang, the CEO of Li Auto, clarified that embodied intelligence, rooted in automotive forms, is poised to be the first AI robot to venture into the physical world. He expressed confidence that, following the event, the public will gain a clearer understanding of Li Auto's development trajectory.
Li Xiang had previously underscored the significance of AI-related timelines during a company-wide meeting. He highlighted that 2026 will mark the final year for leading AI companies to integrate their technologies into vehicles. Furthermore, he predicted that Level 4 autonomous driving would be achieved by 2028 at the latest. Li Auto is dedicated to becoming one of the select few global companies that simultaneously engage in businesses such as foundational models, chips, operating systems, and embodied intelligence, while also reinforcing its brand positioning in embodied intelligence.
Additionally, Li Auto has ambitions to expand beyond the automotive sector by developing humanoid robots. The company has two products in the pipeline: a wheeled robot and a bipedal robot. Notably, the wheeled robot is already prepared and, under ideal circumstances, is slated for launch in mid-year. Initially, it will be deployed in factory manufacturing scenarios. Li Auto's development strategy mirrors that of Tesla, focusing on technological iteration in closed environments before targeting consumer markets.
During the Q1 earnings call this year, Li Xiang also mentioned that, in the long term, factories, stores, and users will all have a demand for humanoid robots. He foresees that startups, mid-sized companies, and large enterprises alike will enter this burgeoning field.
